Jesse Ventura: MSNBC paid for my silence

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times’ Scott Collins, Jesse Ventura talked about his new television show on truTV and a few other surprising things.

The former Independent Governor of Minnesota also touched on his time on cable television on MSNBC. He said “weird phone calls” started happening asking if Ventura was against the war in Iraq. Which Ventura was against.

Ventura said he was being groomed to get a five day-a-week TV show, then he was taken off the air and not even being used as a consultant, but was still paid for three years. Ventura was quoted saying, “Why do you think you didn't hear from me for three years?”

The interview also focus on Ventura’s conspiracy based show “Conspiracy Theory”. Ventura talked about 9/11 terror attack conspiracies and weather control conspiracies.

Jesse Ventura is getting back in the ring…

Jesse Ventura is getting back in the ring on Monday, November 23. The former independent Minnesota Governor and professional wrestler will host “WWE Monday Night Raw” on USA Network. The show will be broadcast from the Giant Center in Hershey, PA.

Ventura is promoting his new show, “Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura”, a new series on truTV network that will premier December 2 at 10:00 PM.

Jesse Ventura 2012…

It’s only one post on a message board, but there appears to be a promise of the website JesseVentura2012.com to be on-line in November. The website appears to be urging former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura to run for President in 2012.

At Ron Paul’s rally during the 2008 Republican National Convention, Ventura made a veiled promise that he would run for President in 2012 if the support was there for him to make a run and it appeared that he could win.

The support could be starting with the website, but ballot access could be the largest obstacle in getting Ventura to become candidate Ventura again.

Two thirds parties could have a major impact…

Two thirds parties could have a major impact… in the 2010 Minnesota Gubernatorial race.

A column written by Blois Olson on Minnpost.com points out “Third-party influence” in the race for governor. The column of course points to the 1998 election of Jesse Ventura on the Independence Party ticket.

Olson says, “DFLers (Minnesota’s version of Democrats) grumble that the IP candidates' vote totals were a major factor in their nominees losing those races.” In the two gubernatorial elections since Ventura’s one term in office Independence Party candidates pulled in 16.1% and 6.4% of the vote.

That number could even be higher in 2010 for an Independent Party ticket. In the hotly contested Senatorial race between Senator Norm Coleman and Al Franken, former Senator Dean Barkley won about 15% of the vote.

Olson’s commentary does not end with Minnesota’s own Independence Party. He writes the Green Party and the Libertarian Party could play factors.

Olson believes the Libertarian Party has the chance to play a large factor if, “(the Republican) Ron Paul faction is dissatisfied with the way it's treated by Republicans or is unhappy with the GOP-endorsed candidate.”

It's a good thing I'm not the President...

It's a good thing I'm not the President... that's the word from Jesse Ventura on ABC's "The View" Monday.

The former Independent Governor of Minnesota told the ladies from "The View" that if he were President he would prosecute the people who ordered and did waterboarding.

He said Republicans and Democrats are both involved in the waterboarding and that is why the new controversy over waterboarding will go nowhere.

Jesse Ventura said at the Ron Paul "Rally for the Republic" in 2008 that he would consider running for President in 2012 if the was a ground swell for him to run and he though he could win.

Is the ground starting to "swell"?
