No decision from Ron Paul on 2012 presidential run…

Texas Congressman Ron Paul has not made a decision if he will run for President in 2012. The Republican and 1988 Libertarian Party presidential candidate says it’s “too early” to think about 2012.

Andrew Duffelmeyer writes on IowaPolitics.com Dr. Paul is focusing on his re-election to Congress in 2010. Dr. Paul was quoted saying, “[A Presidential run is]… not on my mind, it’s too early, and I will be filing for my congressional seat.”

Jesse Ventura 2012…

It’s only one post on a message board, but there appears to be a promise of the website JesseVentura2012.com to be on-line in November. The website appears to be urging former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura to run for President in 2012.

At Ron Paul’s rally during the 2008 Republican National Convention, Ventura made a veiled promise that he would run for President in 2012 if the support was there for him to make a run and it appeared that he could win.

The support could be starting with the website, but ballot access could be the largest obstacle in getting Ventura to become candidate Ventura again.

Ron Paul rallying a crowd at the University of Minnesota. The libertarian and Republican lawmaker from Texas headed-up Interstate 35 to Minneapolis for a speech.

The article from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune started, “If you think speeches attacking the U.S. Federal Reserve couldn't excite a Friday night crowd on a college campus, think again.”

Congressman Paul spoke to the crowed with Republican Representative Michelle Bachmann.

Palin For President, as a Libertarian?

Palin For President, as a Libertarian? It is the topic of a column by Phil Manger on NolanChart.com.

The last part of first paragraph sums-up the article, “we libertarians — at long last — may have found in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin a Presidential candidate who is both acceptable and electable.”

Manger’s arguments of Palin include: She resonates with Middle Americans, She is libertarian on the issues that matter most, People pay attention to what she says, Palin is a true "Teflon candidate", Ron Paul is not available.

He sees a few faults in Palin including: She's a little too close to the neocons, I'm not sure of her views on civil liberties, Palin may not want to be President.

Manger wraps-up saying Sarah Palin’s husband Todd being a member a former member of the Alaskan Independence Party could be favorable for a Libertarian run.

Modern Whigs back second candidate…

Modern Whigs back second candidate… for Congress.

In their Independence Day message the Modern Whig party announced they are backing Adam Kokesh’s run for Congress. Kokesh is running in New Mexico’s Third District.

Kokesh has said if he will run on any party ticket. Kokesh has also been endorsed by two people that ran for President in 2008; Congressman Ron Paul and former Senator Mike Gravel.

Democrat Ben Lujan is currently in his first term in Congress representing New Mexico’s Third District. In 2008, the area showed 14% support for independent Carol Miller.

Paul McKain is running for Congress on the Modern Whig Party ticket in Florida. McKain was the first person to run for office on the Modern Whig ticket.

Professor to run for Senate…

Professor to run for Senate… in Florida.

Marshall L. DeRosa has filed to run for U.S. Senate in Florida on the Constitution Party ticket.

The Constitution Party of Florida’s website describes DeRosa as, “..a Professor of Political Science at Florida Atlantic University. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Houston, and has taught at Louisiana State University and Davis and Elkins College. He is an adjunct faculty member for the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a Salvatori Fellow of the Heritage Foundation, and a member of the Philadelphia Society.”

DeRosa says Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential run inspired him to run for office.

It's a good thing I'm not the President...

It's a good thing I'm not the President... that's the word from Jesse Ventura on ABC's "The View" Monday.

The former Independent Governor of Minnesota told the ladies from "The View" that if he were President he would prosecute the people who ordered and did waterboarding.

He said Republicans and Democrats are both involved in the waterboarding and that is why the new controversy over waterboarding will go nowhere.

Jesse Ventura said at the Ron Paul "Rally for the Republic" in 2008 that he would consider running for President in 2012 if the was a ground swell for him to run and he though he could win.

Is the ground starting to "swell"?

In a story posted on "The Center for Libertarian Press Information" Libertarians are calling on an audit of the Federal Reserve.

They're backing Congressman Ron Paul's HR1207 calling for a public audit of the Fed.
